Weather Situation - Northern Western Australia
A broad area of low pressure lies over the Kimberley. A surface trough extends
from the central Pilbara into North Interior. On Sunday the ridge over central
parts of the State begins to break down and the trough through the Pilbara will
extend towards the west coast, occasionally pushing offshore.
Weather Situation - Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure lies over central parts of the State. On Saturday a
weak cold front will brush the south coast. Behind the front the ridge will
move over southern parts of the State. A high will move over the Bight on
Monday with a trough developing inland from the west coast which will then
deepen on Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of Friday 27 October
Showers southwest of a line from Jurien Bay to Ravensthorpe with light falls
anticipated. Afternoon showers and thunderstorms about the north and east
Kimberley.
Forecast for Saturday 28 October
Showers near the coast between Mandurah and Albany. Showers increasing over the
Southwest District in the evening with light showers extending up the west
coast possibly as far as Geraldton. Afternoon showers and thunderstorms about
the north and east Kimberley.
Forecast for Sunday 29 October
Showers over much of the South West Land Division and coastal parts of the
Eucla, clearing during the day. Afternoon showers and thunderstorms about the
eastern and northern Kimberley.
Forecast for Monday 30 October
Afternoon showers and thunderstorms about the central and east Kimberley and
over the northeast Interior. The chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms
over the inland west Pilbara.
Forecast for Tuesday 31 October
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley and far northern parts of the
Interior, extending down the trough into the Pilbara and northern Gascoyne
during the afternoon.
