...A warm April... Nashville experienced a warm month of April...with the average temperature of 62.8 degrees being 4.3 degrees above normal. The warmest temperature was 87 on the 5th and 6th...while the coldest was 37 degrees on the 9th and 10th. There was not a freeze during the month...and dating back to March 7th...it was the earliest last freeze in Nashville since March 5th 1927. Total precipitation was 3.48 inches...which is 0.45 inch below normal. Crossville averaged 59.4 degrees for the month...4.2 degrees above normal. There was not a freeze dring the month...and dating back to March 7th...Crossville experienced their earliest last freeze since records began in 1954. The warmest temperature was 83 degrees on the 5th and 6th....while the coldest was 34 on the 10th. Total precipitation was 3.22 inches...which is 1.38 inches below normal. Clarksville averaged 61.5 degrees for the month and tabulated 2.54 inches of precipitation. The warmest temperature was 86 de...

...NWS confirms EF-0 tornado in southern Lawrence County from Saturday evening... Ef-o tornado with maximum winds around 80 mph touched down near Loretto.  The most significant damage extended from Brenda Avenue east-northeast to a residence off Glendale Road.  A couple dozen trees were uprooted and a few softwood trees were snapped.  One home suffered some minor roof damage. Other damage locations were surveyed in northeast Giles County and southern Marshall County.  10 to 12 trees were uprooted by straight line winds across the area.

...Public information statement... A survey team will be out today looking for damage from the weekend storm event. They will concentrate their search in Lawrence...Giles and Maury counties.

...NWS confirms EF-1 tornado in Perry County and two EF-2 tornadoes in Hickman County from Sunday morning... Initial damage was noted a couple miles east of Highway 13 south of Lobelville.  Hundreds of trees were snapped and uprooted...a couple of outbuildings were destroyed and a home suffered some minor roof damage. The last evidence of damage was along Jones Hollow Road to the east of Highway 13. The survey team was unable to access areas either to the west of the beginning or the east of the end of the track. In Hickman County damage was first noted on Mathis loop Road a couple miles west of Highway 50. Areas to the west of this point were inaccessible. Damage continued around 5.4 miles to the east northeast at which point the survey team was not able to proceed.  Thousands of Hardwood trees were snapped and uprooted...some reduced down to stubs. The tornado was strongest as it crossed Highway 50.  A brick home suffered considerable structural damage ...

The National Weather Service in Nashville sent a team to several counties in the west part of middle Tennessee to inspect damage from last weekends storms. The team confirmed tornadoes in Perry and Hickman counties. Old Natchez microburst Date: Saturday may 1, 2010 Time: approximately 710 am CDT Event type: microburst Location: old Natchez trace, just south of Sneed Rd W Peak wind: 70-80 mph Width: 300 yds Length: 0.3 mi Injuries: none Fatalities: none Damage: numerous large trees were broken or uprooted. Trees fell and brought down power lines and poles. Only minor personal property damage was noted, including damage to fences. ...NWS confirms high end EF-1 tornadoes in Davidson and Sumner counties from Sunday... The initial touchdown was near the intersection of south Dickerson Pike and old Dickerson Pike in northeast Davidson County.  Trees were snapped...trailers suffered roof and underpinning damage...and an old building had it's roof removed.  Damage consisting of minor roof uplifting and hundreds of snapped trees continued to the northeast for over 3.5 miles.  The tornado crossed Rivergate Parkway at the Rivergate mall blowing over power poles and business signs.  Several large projectiles impacted the malls facade leaving craters as high as 30 feet off the ground.  The last evidence of damage was to business signs just east of Rivergate mall on Gallatin Pike. The tornado lifted for several miles into Sumner County then touched down again near the intersection of Forest retreat Road and hunts Lane just north of Highway 386.  Damage consisting of hundreds of...

...Damage survey results for northwest Stewart County in north central Tennessee... * event date - Saturday may 1 2010 * event time - 315 am CDT * event type - microburst * event location - rushing creek campground * peak wind - 80 mph * average path width - 250 yards * path length - 0.25 miles * injuries - none * fatalities - none * discussion/damage - between 50 and 100 very large trees uprooted or broken off. Soft Woods were broken off with hardwoods uprooted. Roof ripped off open shelter. 5 Guy wires down. Scores of campers were evacuted starting around 330 am Saturday. ...NWS to survey possible tornado damage... A survey team from the National Weather Service Nashville office will inspect potential tornado damage today and Thursday. Today...the team will survey damage in northern Davidson and Sumner counties including the Rivergate mall area. On Thursday... a team will survey the northwest part of Williamson County and several locations in Hickman County. The National Weather Service will issue further information as soon as the damage survey teams complete each inspection.
