Weather Situation - Northern Western Australia
Ex-Tropical Cyclone Stan lies over the southeastern Pilbara this afternoon and
will weaken slowly as it tracks southeastwards tonight and during Monday. By
Tuesday a trough will form over inland parts of the Pilbara and Kimberley.

Weather Situation - Southern and Central Western Australia
A surface trough extends from the Gascoyne through eastern parts of the South
West Land Division will continue moving east tonight before combining with
ex-Tropical Cyclone Stan over the South Interior by Monday morning. A strong
ridge of high pressure is developing in the wake of the trough over the south
of the State with a high moving into the Bight on Wednesday.

Forecast for the rest of Sunday 31 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Interior, eastern Gascoyne,
central and eastern South West Land Division, the Goldfields and the Eucla.
Heavy rain and squally thunderstorms over southeastern parts of the Pilbara and
western parts of the Interior. Showers over remaining parts of the South West
Land Division, Gascoyne and Pilbara, easing later in the day.

Forecast for Monday 1 February
Rain and squally thunderstorms over the Eucla, southern and eastern Goldfields,
eastern Southeast Coastal district and the southern Interior, contracting
southeast out of the State during the day. Showers and thunderstorms over the
central Interior and the north and east Kimberley. Showers over the remaining
Interior, eastern Gascoyne, northern Goldfields, coastal and southeastern parts
of the Pilbara and near the south coast.

Forecast for Tuesday 2 February
Showers and thunderstorms over the north and east Kimberley. Showers over the
remaining Kimberley, northern Interior, inland Pilbara and northern Gascoyne
with a chance of afternoon thunderstorms over the inland Pilbara and adjacent
Gascoyne. Showers near the south coast and Eucla coast.

Forecast for Wednesday 3 February
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara and northern Gascoyne.
Showers over the Eucla and adjacent Goldfields and along the south coast east
of Bremer Bay.

Forecast for Thursday 4 February
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley and the northern Interior. Morning
showers over the Eucla and the adjacent Goldfields.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Monday.
