Weather Situation - Northern Western Australia
A broad trough lies over the inland Pilbara and central Kimberley. A Tropical
Low lies to the north of the Pilbara coast and is forecast to develop into a
Tropical Cyclone on Friday before crossing the Pilbara coast either late on
Friday or during Saturday.

Weather Situation - Southern and Central Western Australia
A strong high pressure system south of the State is moving into the Bight. A
surface trough off the west coast will deepen during Friday, before moving
eastwards during Saturday and Sunday.

Forecast for the rest of Thursday 28 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, central and northern Interior,
Pilbara, Gascoyne and the Central West. Possible heavy falls over the western
Kimberley, Pilbara, northern Gascoyne and adjacent Interior.

Forecast for Friday 29 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, central and northern Interior,
Pilbara, Gascoyne and the Central West. Damaging wind gusts possible near the
Pilbara coast later in the day, depending on the movement and development of
the Tropical Low. Possible heavy falls over the western Kimberley, Pilbara,
Gascoyne and northern Central West. Evening showers possible over the Lower
West and South West.

Forecast for Saturday 30 January
Showers and thunderstorms over most of the State, apart from the southeast
Interior, Eucla and the southeast Goldfields. Damaging wind gusts possible near
the Pilbara coast, depending on the movement and development of the Tropical
Low. Possible heavy falls over the western Kimberley, Pilbara, Gascoyne and
western parts of the South West Land Division.

Forecast for Sunday 31 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Interior, central and eastern
Pilbara, eastern Gascoyne, central and eastern South West Land Division, the
Goldfields and the Eucla. Heavy falls possible over the southern Pilbara,
eastern Gascoyne, the Goldfields, western Interior and eastern parts of the
South West Land Division. Showers over remaining parts of the South West Land
Division, Gascoyne and Pilbara, easing later in the day.

Forecast for Monday 1 February
Showers and thunderstorms over the Eucla, eastern Goldfields and eastern
Southeast Coastal district, easing during the day. Showers and thunderstorms
over the Kimberley, southeast Pilbara, northeast Gascoyne and the Interior.
Showers along the Pilbara coast, easing during the day. Showers over coastal
parts of the South West Land Division between Jurien Bay and Bremer Bay.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Friday.
