Weather Situation - Northern Western Australia
A trough of low pressure lies extends southwards from the central Pilbara while
the Kimberley lies under a broad monsoonal flow. The trough moves into the
eastern Pilbara and the northern Interior on Wednesday while the monsoon flow
weakens over the north of the State.

Weather Situation - Southern and Central Western Australia
A surface trough inland from the west coast is moving eastwards as a cold front
nears the southwest Capes. The front will move over the southwest of the State
during Monday night and Tuesday morning. A low pressure system will develop
south of the State on Tuesday and Wednesday, bringing gusty winds, showers and
cool conditions to southern parts. A weak ridge of high pressure will develop
over the southern half of the State on Thursday. A weak front reaches the
southwest on Friday morning.

Forecast for the rest of Monday 26 December
Showers and thunderstorms through the Kimberley, North Interior, eastern
Pilbara and northeast Gascoyne.
Showers or drizzle in the southeast of the State.
Showers developing near the Southwest Capes and extending to areas southwest of
a line from Yanchep to Hopetoun during the evening. The chance of thunderstorms
near the south coast

Forecast for Tuesday 27 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Interior, eastern Pilbara and
Eucla.
Cool and showery over southern parts of the South West Land Division and
southern Goldfields with gusty winds and thunderstorms possible near the south
coast. Showers contracting to near coastal parts in the late afternoon and
evening.

Forecast for Wednesday 28 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley and northeast Interior.
Showers over southern parts of the South West Land Division, the southern
Goldfields and the western Eucla.

Forecast for Thursday 29 December
Showers near the south coast, mostly morning.
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley and the North Interior.

Forecast for Friday 30 December
Showers near the south coast, mostly morning.
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley and Interior.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Tuesday.
