Weather Situation - Northern Western Australia
Ex-Tropical Cyclone Yvette remains to the northwest of Broome and is now
unlikely to reform into a Tropical Cyclone before crossing the west Kimberley
coast during Sunday. There may be a period of gales and heavy rainfall over the
west Kimberley during Sunday as the low passes. Please refer to the Severe
Weather Warning for Ex-Tropical Cyclone Yvette, the severe weather warning for
a Tropical Low over the far northern Interior and related Flood Warnings for
more information.

Weather Situation - Southern and Central Western Australia
A weak ridge of high pressure lies to the south of the State with a trough
deepening inland from the west coast and moving east during Sunday. Another
trough develops near the west coast during Monday, with a low pressure system
developing south of the State on Tuesday and Wednesday, bringing gusty winds,
showers and cool conditions to southwestern parts.

Forecast for the rest of Saturday 24 December
Showers and thunderstorms through most parts of State except the western and
southwestern districts of the South West Land Division. Rain and thunderstorms
with heavy falls over the Interior and adjacent Kimberley. Chance of an evening
shower near the western south coast.

Forecast for Sunday 25 December
Showers and thunderstorms away from the west coast, slowly clearing in
southwestern parts. Heavy falls and damaging winds possible near the west
Kimberley coast with the landfall of Ex-Tropical Cyclone Yvette. Rain and
thunderstorms with heavy falls and damaging winds in the Interior, slowly
contracting from the west. Mostly morning showers near the south coast.

Forecast for Monday 26 December
Showers and thunderstorms through most inland parts of the state and through
the Kimberley Heavy falls and Showers developing during the afternoon near the
Southwest Capes and extending to the remaining South West district, the
adjacent Great Southern and South Coastal districts in the evening.

Forecast for Tuesday 27 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northern and eastern Interior and
eastern Pilbara. Cool and showery over southern parts of the South West Land
Division with gusty winds and thunderstorms possible, particularly near the
south coast. Showers reaching the southern Goldfields in the evening.

Forecast for Wednesday 28 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northern and eastern Interior and
far eastern Pilbara.
Showers, thunderstorms and gusty winds near the south coast from Cape Leeuwin
to Israelite Bay.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Sunday.
