Weather Situation - Northern Western Australia
A trough of low pressure extends from the inland Pilbara through the North
Interior, while the Kimberley lies under a broad monsoonal flow. The monsoon
flow weakens over the north of the State during Thursday and Friday while a
heat low deepens over the inland Pilbara.

Weather Situation - Southern and Central Western Australia
A deep low pressure system south of the State is moving east. A weak ridge of
high pressure will lie over the south of the State on Thursday, with a weak
cold front forecast to brush the southwest corner on Friday. A ridge of high
pressure will develop south of the State over the weekend.

Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 28 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the northern and eastern Kimberley and northeast
Interior.
Showers possible near the eastern south coast.

Forecast for Thursday 29 December
Showers near the southern and Eucla coasts, mostly morning.
Showers and thunderstorms over the northern and eastern Kimberley and northeast
Interior.

Forecast for Friday 30 December
Showers about the South West district and adjacent parts, extending to
remaining southern coastal parts in the afternoon.
Showers and thunderstorms over the northern and eastern Kimberley, North
Interior and adjacent Pilbara.

Forecast for Saturday 31 December
Showers along the south coast, clearing during the morning.
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northeast Pilbara and Interior.

Forecast for Sunday 1 January
Showers along the eastern south coast and the Eucla coast, clearing during the
morning.
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, inland Pilbara, northern and
eastern Gascoyne and the north and west Interior.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Thursday.
