Weather Situation - Northern Western Australia
A trough and associated rain band lies through the far east Pilbara, southern
Kimberley and north Interior and will slowly weakening on Tuesday. A new low
pressure trough will develop over the Pilbara during Wednesday.

Weather Situation - Southern and Central Western Australia
A low pressure system is moving eastwards through the Bight with a weak ridge
of high pressure developing over the state. A cold front will reach the
southwest corner early on Wednesday and weaken as it moves eastwards through
the South West Land Division during the day. A surface trough will develop
ahead of the front through the Goldfields with possible afternoon
thunderstorms. A new ridge of high pressure will develop in the wake of the
front ahead of another weak cold front brushing the southwest of the state late
Friday.

Forecast for the rest of Monday 29 August
Showers over central and southern parts of the South West Land Division,
Goldfields and Eucla, contracting to coastal parts late this evening. Rain
through the eastern Pilbara, North Interior and southern Kimberley with showers
and possible thunderstorms over the remaining Kimberley.

Forecast for Tuesday 30 August
Rain over the central and southern Kimberley and northern Interior, easing
during the day. Showers near the south coast, clearing during the afternoon.
Showers developing over areas southwest of a line Perth to Albany during the
day.

Forecast for Wednesday 31 August
Showers southwest of a line Carnarvon to Israelite Bay, extending east across
the Goldfields and Eucla during the afternoon and evening while clearing
western parts. The chance of thunderstorms. Moderate falls likely over western
parts of the South West Land Division.
The chance of showers over the Kimberley and North Interior. Areas of rain
developing about the central Pilbara and adjacent Interior in the evening.

Forecast for Thursday 1 September
Showers over southern coastal districts, southern Goldfields, Eucla and
adjacent Interior, contracting to southern coastal parts during the day.
Possible morning thunderstorms about the Eucla. Rain over the eastern Pilbara
and northern Interior, clearing in the morning. Afternoon showers across the
Kimberley.

Forecast for Friday 2 September
Showers southwest of a line Perth to Albany, extending along southern coastal
parts in the evening.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Tuesday.
