Weather Situation - Northern Western Australia
A high pressure system lies in the Bight, and will move towards eastern
Australia by the weekend. On Friday a trough develops through the Pilbara and
Kimberley, with the trough moving east over the weekend.

Weather Situation - Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure system lies in the Bight. A cold front moves across southern
and central parts of the State later on Friday and during Saturday. A low
pressure system off the south coast behind the front moves eastwards over the
weekend.

Forecast for the rest of Thursday 25 August
Generally clear across the State.

Forecast for Friday 26 August
Showers developing near the west coast south of Perth during the afternoon,
ahead of a band of rain reaching the SW Capes in the early afternoon and
extending through areas southwest of a line from Kalbarri to Hopetoun by
midnight. Moderate to heavy falls expected over the Lower West and South West
districts. Gusty winds near the leading edge of the rain band.

Forecast for Saturday 27 August
Showers southwest of a line Carnarvon to Eyre, extending to southwest of a line
Exmouth to Eucla in the afternoon. A band of rain with gusty winds moves east
through eastern parts of the South West Land Division, the Goldfields, Gascoyne
and west Eucla. Gusty winds and possible thunderstorms near the western south
coast. Hail possible southwest of a line Mandurah to Bremer Bay, mainly in the
morning.

Forecast for Sunday 28 August
A band of showers through the Interior, northeast Gascoyne and adjacent Pilbara
moves east during the day. Showers possible in the Kimberley, with
thunderstorms possible in the northwest. Showers over southern parts of the
South West Land Division, with gusty winds. Showers along the west coast south
of Shark Bay, extending through remaining parts of the South West Land
Division, the southern Gascoyne and the Goldfields for a period during the day.

Forecast for Monday 29 August
Showers near the southern and Eucla coasts, extending to adjacent inland parts
for a period during the day. Showers over the Kimberley, with the chance of
thunderstorms.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Friday.
