Weather Situation - Northern Western Australia
A high pressure system lies in the Bight, and will move towards eastern
Australia by the weekend. A trough is developing through the Pilbara and
Kimberley, and will move east over the weekend. On Monday a ridge will develop
over central parts of the State.

Weather Situation - Southern and Central Western Australia
A cold front moves across southern and central parts of the State later today
and during Saturday. A low pressure system off the south coast behind the front
moves eastwards over the weekend. On Monday and Tuesday the low moves into the
Bight with a high pressure ridge developing over central parts of the State.

Forecast for the rest of Friday 26 August
A band of rain near the southwest Capes extending through areas southwest of a
line from Shark Bay to Hopetoun by midnight. Moderate to heavy falls possible
over the Lower West and South West districts. Gusty winds near the leading edge
of the rain band.

Forecast for Saturday 27 August
Showers southwest of a line Coral Bay to Israelite Bay, extending to southwest
of a line Onslow to Eucla in the afternoon. A band of rain with gusty winds
moves east through eastern parts of the South West Land Division, the
Goldfields, Gascoyne and west Eucla. Possible thunderstorms near the south
coast between Walpole and Israelite Bay. Gusty winds over the southern half of
the State.

Forecast for Sunday 28 August
A band of showers through the Interior, northeast Gascoyne, Pilbara and Eucla
moves east during the day. Showers possible over the Kimberley. Showers over
the South West Land Division, clearing northern districts during the afternoon.
Thunderstorms possible near the south coast between Bremer Bay and Israelite
Bay.

Forecast for Monday 29 August
Showers near the west coast. Showers near the southern and Eucla coasts,
extending to adjacent inland parts for a period during the day. Showers
possible over the Kimberley, North Interior and adjacent Pilbara with
thunderstorms possible in the northwest Kimberley.

Forecast for Tuesday 30 August
Showers and thunderstorms possible over the Kimberley and Interior. Showers
near the south coast, clearing during the afternoon. Showers extending from the
southwest to be southwest of a line Kalbarri to Bremer Bay by the evening.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Saturday.
