Weather Situation - Northern Western Australia
Severe Tropical Cyclone Olwyn lies just southwest of Exmouth and is expected to
continue tracking southwards and weaken. Please refer to the latest tropical
cyclone warnings [ www.bom.gov.au/cyclone/ ].
Weather Situation - Southern and Central Western Australia
Severe Tropical Cyclone Olwyn is forecast to move through the western Gascoyne
and into the adjacent parts of the northern SW Land Division late on Friday.
The remains of Olwyn is then forecast to move through central and western parts
of the Southwest Land Division during Saturday. On Sunday the remnants of Olwyn
will move south of the State. A cold front will approach the southwest corner
during Monday. Please refer to the latest tropical cyclone warnings [

Forecast for the rest of Friday 13 March
Rain, heavy falls, and VERY DESTRUCTIVE winds possible in the western Pilbara,
western Gascoyne, and into the far north of the Central West depending on
movement and development of Tropical Cyclone Olwyn, with the worst conditions
being the far southwestern Pilbara and coastal Gascoyne. Showers and
thunderstorms over the western Kimberley, eastern Pilbara, eastern Gascoyne,
western and central parts of the SW Land Division.
Forecast for Saturday 14 March
Showers and thunderstorms in the western half of the state and western
Kimberley. Rain, thunderstorms, heavy falls, and DAMAGING winds possible in the
southwest Gascoyne, central and western parts of the Southwest Land Division.
Forecast for Sunday 15 March
Rain, thunderstorms, heavy falls, and DAMAGING winds possible near the south
coast early morning. Conditions generally easing with showers through most of
the SW Land Division. Showers and thunderstorms in the Goldfields, western
Eucla, Pilbara, and north Kimberley.
Forecast for Monday 16 March
Showers in western parts of the SW Land Division and the adjacent Gascoyne,
mainly in the morning. Showers and thunderstorms in the southern Interior,
eastern Eucla, and north Kimberley.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Friday.
