Weather Situation - Northern Western Australia
A high pressure system moving eastwards south of the State will produce
moderate to fresh easterly winds across the Pilbara and Kimberley for the next
few days. The remnants of ex-Tropical Cyclone Nathan is expected to pass to the
north of the Kimberley over the next few days and remain below tropical cyclone
intensity, though heavy falls and squally thunderstorms are possible in the far
northern Kimberley today. Weather will increase over the western Pilbara on
Monday.
Weather Situation - Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough lies near the west coast, and will move inland during Friday. A high
pressure system in the Bight is moving east. Rain developing over the western
half on Monday as a surface trough near the west coast interacts with an upper
level trough that draws moisture down from the north.
Forecast for the rest of Friday 27 March
Showers and thunderstorms across most of the State. Heavy falls possible in the
far northern Kimberley.
Forecast for Saturday 28 March
Showers and thunderstorms over areas northeast of a line from Carnarvon to
Eyre. Showers near the western south coast.
Forecast for Sunday 29 March
Showers and thunderstorms north of a line from Geraldton to Kalgoorlie.
Forecast for Monday 30 March
Rain and thunderstorms with possible heavy falls extending southwards across
the western half of the State during the day. Showers and thunderstorms in the
Kimberley.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Friday.
