Statement as of 9:18 PM CST on December 21, 2013

...A Tornado Warning remains in effect for western Sumner County
until 930 PM CST...

At 916 PM CST...National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated a
severe squall line capable of producing damaging straight line winds
and brief rain-wrapped tornadoes. These dangerous storms were
located along a line extending from 7 miles southeast of Franklin to
5 miles west of Gallatin...moving east at 55 mph.

Locations impacted include...
Portland...Millersville...Cottontown and Mitchellville.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Take cover now. Move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
sturdy building. Avoid windows. If in a Mobile home...a vehicle or
outdoors...move to the closest substantial shelter and protect
yourself from flying debris.

Tornadoes are difficult to see and confirm at night. Take cover now.


A Tornado Watch remains in effect until midnight CST Sunday morning
for central Tennessee. A Tornado Watch also remains in effect until
200 am CST Sunday morning for central Tennessee.

* at 911 PM CST...National Weather Service meteorologists were
tracking a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing a
tornado. These dangerous storms were located along a line extending
from Goodlettsville to Forest Hills...and moving east at 45 mph.

* Locations impacted include...
Gallatin...Madison...Oak Hill...Old Hickory...Lakewood...
Hendersonville...Hermitage...Mount Juliet...Rural Hill...Belinda
City...Berry Hill and Percy Priest Lake.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

This line of thunderstorms is capable of producing tornadoes and
widespread significant wind damage. Do not wait to see or hear the
