Weather Situation - Northern Western Australia
A surface trough lies near the Pilbara coast and through inland parts of the
Kimberley. A tropical low north of the Kimberley coast will move west into the
Indian Ocean during Thursday. Heavy rainfall expected over the north Kimberley
for the next few days.

Weather Situation - Southern and Central Western Australia
A weak high pressure ridge will move south of the state into the Bight on
Thursday with a deep trough through central parts of the state. The trough will
move into the southeast of the state on Friday as a weak cold front brushes the
western south coast. A ridge of high pressure will develop south of the state
on Saturday.

Forecast for the rest of Thursday 26 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, with rain and heavy falls
possible over the northern Kimberley. Afternoon showers and thunderstorms about
the eastern Gascoyne and the Goldfields.

Forecast for Friday 27 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley with rain and some moderate to
heavy falls possible in the northwest. Showers and thunderstorms over the
Pilbara, Interior, northeast Eucla, and the northeast Goldfields. Showers and
drizzle near the south coast.

Forecast for Saturday 28 December
Showers and thunderstorms across the northern half of the state. Morning
drizzle near the eastern south coast.

Forecast for Sunday 29 December
Showers and thunderstorms across the northern half of the state, extending into
the southern Gascoyne, Goldfields, and eastern SW Land Division in the
afternoon and evening. Evening drizzle near the western south coast.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Thursday.
