Weather Situation - Northern Western Australia
Ex-Tropical Cyclone Christine currently lies over the northern Goldfields and
is forecast to move southeastwards through the Southern Interior during the
day. A broad trough will begin to develop over the north of the state Thursday
and Friday.

Weather Situation - Southern and Central Western Australia
Ex-Tropical Cyclone Christine is forecast to move southeastwards through the
northern and eastern Goldfields and the Southern Interior during the day,
before reaching the Eucla over night Wednesday and Thursday morning.
Ex-Tropical cyclone Christine is expected to bringing heavy rainfall and gusty
winds through the Goldfields, Eucla and southern Interior during Wednesday,
before contracting to the southeast parts of the state early on Thursday. Weak
cold fronts will brush the western south coast Thursday afternoon. A ridge of
high pressure will develop along the south coast during Friday.

Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 1 January
Showers and thunderstorms over central and eastern parts of the state with rain
areas, squally winds and possible heavy falls over the east Gascoyne,
Goldfields, Eucla, southern Interior and the adjacent parts of the SW Land
Division. Isolated light morning showers or drizzle about coastal parts between
Kalbarri and Bremer Bay.

Forecast for Thursday 2 January
Rain areas with thunderstorms over the eastern Eucla and adjacent Interior
clearing during the day. Showers and thunderstorms for the Kimberley, northern
Interior and adjacent Pilbara, mainly during the afternoon and evening. Morning
drizzle about the remaining southern Interior, Goldfields and eastern parts of
the SW Land Division. Showers for the Southwest and the adjacent Lower West and
South Coastal districts for a period during the day.

Forecast for Friday 3 January
Showers and thunderstorms in the Kimberley and adjacent Interior, extending to
the eastern inland Pilbara during the afternoon and evening. Morning showers
near the south coast west of Eyre, extending throughout the Eucla and eastern
Goldfields in the afternoon. Isolated light showers about southern coastal
parts west of Hopetoun.

Forecast for Saturday 4 January
Showers and thunderstorms in the Kimberley, extending to the inland Pilbara
during the afternoon and evening.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Wednesday.
