Weather Situation - Northern Western Australia
Severe Tropical Cyclone Christine is currently to the north northeast of Port
Hedland and is moving south southwest towards the Pilbara coast and is most
likely to cross the coast later in the day or Monday night. Heavy rainfall and
strong winds are expected about the west Kimberley and Pilbara during today and
Tuesday, before contracting southeastwards during Wednesday.

Weather Situation - Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure system lies in the Bight with a trough deepening inland from
the west coast. The remnants of a likely ex-tropical cyclone by Wednesday may
bring areas of heavy rainfall and gusty winds through the eastern Gascoyne,
Goldfields, Eucla and southern Interior during Tuesday and Wednesday, before
contracting to the southeast on Thursday, but is dependent on the movement of
Tropical Cyclone Christine.

Forecast for the rest of Monday 30 December
Showers and thunderstorms across most of the state northeast of a line from
Carnarvon to Esperance. Very windy with rain and heavy falls possible in the
Pilbara and west coastal Kimberley. Possible late drizzle near the south coast
west of Hood Point.

Forecast for Tuesday 31 December

Very windy with rain and heavy falls possible in the Pilbara and Gascoyne.
Isolated showers about the Southwest district during the afternoon and evening
with possible drizzle developing about coastal parts of the Lower West district
in the evening.

Forecast for Wednesday 1 January

rain areas, squally winds and possible heavy falls over the Goldfields, Eucla,
southern Interior and the adjacent Gascoyne. Isolated light showers for the
Southwest district and the adjacent Lower West during the morning.

Forecast for Thursday 2 January

clearing during the day. Showers and thunderstorms for the central and eastern
