...A wintry mix expected across middle Tennessee tonight and
again Tuesday night...

A wintry mix of sleet...rain and snow will change to all rain across
the south half of middle Tennessee this evening. At the same
time...a mix of rain and sleet is expected over the north. Prior to
midnight...temperatures are expected to drop near freezing along the
Kentucky border. This may cause precipitation to change into light
freezing rain. This will cause slick spots on bridges and
overpasses in the Clarksville...Dover and Springfield areas. Low
temperatures along the Alabama border are expected to remain above
freezing.

Precipitation is expected to turn to all rain by 7 am Tuesday...and
remain rain with highs in the lower 40s. Late in the day on Tuesday
a cold front will move through ushering in colder air. Falling
temperatures late in the day and Tuesday night will change the
rain to light snow with up to an inch accumulation possible along
the plateau...especially in the upper Cumberland. Areas west of the
plateau and east of Interstate 65 could see a dusting.

People traveling through middle Tennessee Tuesday night could
find a few slick spots on roadways...especially across the
Cumberland Plateau...as temperatures are expected to fall below
freezing by 9 PM.

...A wintry mix expected across middle Tennessee this afternoon
and overnight and again Tuesday night...

A weather system is spreading light rain mixed with sleet and snow across
middle Tennessee this afternoon. Grassy areas could see a dusting this
afternoon. The wintry mix will change to all rain across the south
half early tonight with a mix of rain and sleet over the north. Temperatures
tonight will be near freezing along the Kentucky border where light
freezing rain is possible late tonight...that could cause slick spots
on bridges and overpasses in the Clarksville...Dover and Springfield
areas. Low temperatures along the Alabama border are expected to
be near 35 late tonight. The precip is expected to be all rain during
the day on Tuesday with highs in the lower 40s. Late in the day on
Tuesday a cold front will move through ushering in colder air with
falling temperatures late in the day and Tuesday night that will
change the rain to light snow with up to an inch accumulation possible
along the plateau...especially in the upper Cumberland. Areas west
of the plateau and east of Interstate 65 could see a dusting.

People traveling through middle Tennessee Tuesday night could
find a few slick spots on roadways...especially across the
Cumberland Plateau.
