...Hot Labor Day weekend expected across middle Tennessee...
An upper level ridge of high pressure will dominate weather across
the mid state through at least Sunday. For locations west of the
Cumberland Plateau region...high temperatures in the mid 90s
combined with high humidity levels will result in heat index
values reaching the upper 90s to near 100 each afternoon through
Sunday.
Remember to take necessary precautions to protect from heat
exhaustion or heat stroke. Take frequent breaks and drink plenty
of water. Do not leave children or pets in cars unattended as
temperatures can rise well into the triple digits inside a vehicle
after only a few minutes.
