...Hot Labor Day weekend expected across middle Tennessee...
An upper level ridge of high pressure will dominate weather across
the mid state through the Labor Day weekend. High temperatures in
the mid 90s combined with high humidity levels will result in heat
index values reaching the upper 90s to near 100 each afternoon
through Sunday.
Remember to take necessary precautions to protect from heat
exhaustion or heat stroke. Take frequent breaks and drink plenty
of water. Do not leave children or pets in cars unattended as
temperatures can rise well into the triple digits inside a vehicle
after only a few minutes.

...Hot conditions to continue through the weekend as heat index
values are forecast in the upper 90s and near 100...
High pressure aloft will dominate the mid state region over the next
few days and coupled with dewpoints in the upper 60s...will result
in heat index values in the upper 90s to near 100.
The upper level high pressure center creating this hot weather
will be centered over the arklatex region and slowly shift westward.
These conditions will persist until Sunday evening.
Areas along the Tennessee River...will experience the highest
heat indices...some of which may reach or exceed 100 degrees.
Remember to take necessary precautions to protect from heat
exhaustion or heat stroke. Do not leave children or pets in cars
unattended as temperatures can reach well into the triple digits
within a vehicle even after only a few minutes.
