Weather Situation - Northern Western Australia
A trough lies over the inland Pilbara and into the Kimberley. A tropical low
could form over the water just northwest of the Kimberley over the weekend.

Weather Situation - Southern and Central Western Australia
The deep surface trough lies from the inland Gascoyne down across the Eucla,
and should move from the Eucla into the Interior during Thursday. A weak front
should brush the southwest corner of the state on Friday morning with a ridge
developing south of the state in its wake.

Forecast for the rest of Thursday 1 January
Showers and thunderstorms in the Kimberley, eastern Pilbara, Interior,
southeast Gascoyne and northern Goldfields. Morning drizzle possible near the
central south coast.

Forecast for Friday 2 January
Showers and thunderstorms in the Kimberley, eastern Pilbara, Interior, eastern
Gascoyne, Goldfields and Eucla and adjacent South West Land Division. Showers
about the southwest Capes and western south coast, moving east along the south
coast during the day.

Forecast for Saturday 3 January
Showers and thunderstorms in eastern parts of the State, and in the eastern
Pilbara. Heavy falls possible in the northern Kimberley. Showers along the
south coast, clearing from the west during the day.

Forecast for Sunday 4 January
Showers and thunderstorms in the Kimberley, Pilbara, Interior, eastern Gascoyne
and northwest Goldfields. Heavy falls possible in the northern Kimberley.
Isolated morning showers along the eastern south coast.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Thursday.
