Weather Situation - Northern Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure extends from the northwest of the State to the
Interior and is directing a moderate easterly flow over most parts.

Weather Situation - Southern and Central Western Australia
A slow moving cold front lies over the southwest corner of the State and will
move across the remaining South West Land Division during Friday and into
Saturday. A second, weaker, cold front will brush the south coast during Sunday
with a high pressure system forming in the Bight by Monday.

Forecast for the rest of Friday 29 August
A band of showers and thunderstorms across areas southwest of a line from
Mandurah to Hopetoun reaching areas southwest of a line Geraldton to Norseman
by evening. The chance of damaging winds and heavy falls that could lead to
flash flooding as the band moves across the Lower West, South West, Great
Southern, South Coastal and southwestern Central Wheat Belt districts.
Conditions easing from the southwest during the day.

Forecast for Saturday 30 August
Showers over the South West Land Division, the southern Goldfields, western
Eucla and the adjacent Gascoyne. Thunderstorms and showers in the Central Wheat
Belt, southwestern Goldfields and the South East Coastal districts will ease
during the day.

Forecast for Sunday 31 August
Showers over the western and southern South West Land Division, southern
Goldfields, Eucla and the adjacent Interior contracting to the south coast and
Eucla during the day.

Forecast for Monday 1 September
Morning showers in the Eucla and near the eastern south coast. Clear across the
remainder of the State.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Friday.
