Weather Situation - Northern Western Australia
A high pressure system centred over southeastern Australia is directing a
moderate to fresh easterly flow over most parts.
Weather Situation - Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure is developing to the south of the State, ahead of a
cold front moving through the southwest of the state later on Thursday and
during Friday. A westerly flow persists over the south of the State on Saturday
before a ridge of high pressure begins to develop near the south coast on
Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of Thursday 28 August
Showers southwest of a line from Bunbury to Albany, extending to areas
southwest of a line from Mandurah to Bremer Bay in the evening. Isolated
thunderstorms with gusty winds and heavy falls possible southwest of a line
from Bunbury to Albany during the afternoon and evening.
Forecast for Friday 29 August
A band of showers and thunderstorms extending across areas southwest of a line
from Jurien Bay to Hopetoun reaching southwest of a line Kalbarri to Kalgoorlie
to Israelite Bay by evening. Heavy falls and gusty winds possible in the
western Great Southern, western South Coastal, Southwest and Lower West
districts during the morning, with only light falls reaching northern and
eastern parts. Isolated showers persisting west of the band.
Forecast for Saturday 30 August
Showers over the SW Land Division, the southern Goldfields, western Eucla and
the adjacent Gascoyne.
Forecast for Sunday 31 August
Showers over the western and southern SW Land Division, southern Goldfields,
Eucla and the adjacent Interior contracting southeastwards during the day.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Thursday.
