Weather Situation - Northern Western Australia
A high pressure system centred over southeastern Australia is directing a
moderate to fresh easterly flow over most parts.
Weather Situation - Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure is develop to the south of the State, ahead of a cold
front moving through the southwest of the state later on Thursday and during
Friday. A westerly flow persists over the south of the State on Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 27 August
Showers developing in the afternoon over the Southwest district and adjacent
parts of the South Coastal and Great Southern districts.
Forecast for Thursday 28 August
Showers southwest of a line from Bunbury to Albany, extending to areas
southwest of a line from Perth to Bremer Bay in the evening. Isolated
thunderstorms and possible heavy falls about the southwest corner in the
evening.
Forecast for Friday 29 August
A band of showers and thunderstorms extending across areas southwest of a line
from Geraldton to Esperance during the morning, reaching southwest of a line
Kalbarri to Kalgoorlie to Israelite Bay by the evening. Heavy falls possible in
the southwest, with only light falls reaching northern and eastern parts.
Isolated showers persisting west of the band.
Forecast for Saturday 30 August
Showers over central and southern parts of the SW Land Division, the southern
Goldfields and western Eucla, mostly later in the day.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Wednesday.
