Weather Situation - Northern Western Australia
Ex-Tropical Cyclone Hilda lies over the eastern parts of the Southern Interior
and is currently moving towards the east southeast. A severe thunderstorm
warning for damaging winds, heavy rainfall and large hail is current for parts
of the Southern Interior. Please refer to the severe thunderstorm warning for
the most recent warning information. A broad trough extends from the remains of
Hilda over inland northern parts.

Weather Situation - Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure lies near the south coast. A weak cold front
approaching the southwest corner of the State late Sunday evening moves brushes
along the south coast Monday morning. A new trough develops near the west coast
on Monday, deepening on Tuesday, before moving inland Wednesday afternoon.

Forecast for the rest of Sunday 31 December
Rain and thunderstorms with possible heavy falls in the eastern parts of the
South Interior. Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, inland Pilbara,
remaining Interior, inland Gascoyne, southwest Goldfields and inland northern
parts of the South West Land Division.

Forecast for Monday 1 January
Rain and thunderstorms with possible heavy falls in the eastern parts of the
South Interior, contracting east and out of the State in the afternoon. Showers
and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, inland Pilbara, Interior, inland Gascoyne
northern parts of the South West Land Division and the Goldfields. Morning
showers possible near the south cast west of Ravensthorpe.

Forecast for Tuesday 2 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, far North Interior and
inland Gascoyne.

Forecast for Wednesday 3 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, far North Interior
inland Gascoyne and Goldfields. The chance of showers and thunderstorms over
the northern and eastern South West Land Division.

Forecast for Thursday 4 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, east Pilbara and far North
Interior. The chance of showers and thunderstorms over the Southeastern Coastal
District and adjacent Goldfields.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Monday.
