Weather Situation - Northern Western Australia
A tropical low lies about 365km north northeast of Broome and is forecast to
develop into a tropical cyclone on Thursday morning as it tracks in a south to
southwesterly direction along the Kimberley coast.

Weather Situation - Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough lies through the eastern parts of the State with a ridge developing
over the south. A weak cold front moves through the southwest corner of the
State Wednesday evening with a new trough developing near the west coast on
Friday.

Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 26 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, inland Pilbara, Interior, inland
Gascoyne, northeast Goldfields, and Eucla.

Forecast for Wednesday 27 December
Rain and thunderstorms with possible heavy falls in the northwest Kimberley.
Showers and thunderstorms over the remainder of the Kimberley, Pilbara,
Interior, northeast Gascoyne, Goldfields and eastern Eucla. Light showers
possible along the coastal parts between Cape Naturaliste and Albany, mainly in
the morning and late evening.

Forecast for Thursday 28 December
Rain and thunderstorms with possible heavy falls in the west Kimberley, and
adjacent east Pilbara. Showers and thunderstorms over the remaining Kimberley,
east Pilbara, Interior, eastern Gascoyne, Goldfields, southeast Coastal
district and the Eucla. Light showers possible along the coastal parts between
Cape Leeuwin and Esperance in the early morning.

Forecast for Friday 29 December
Showers, rain and thunderstorms with possible heavy falls in the west
Kimberley, east Pilbara and adjacent northwestern Interior. Showers and
thunderstorms over the remaining Kimberley, Pilbara, Interior, Goldfields,
southern Gascoyne, northern parts of the SWLD and the Eucla.

Forecast for Saturday 30 December
Showers and thunderstorms with possible heavy falls in the western Interior and
adjacent Kimberley, east Pilbara. Showers and thunderstorms over the remaining
Kimberley, Pilbara, Interior, Goldfields, Gascoyne and northern parts of the
SWLD.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Wednesday.
