Weather Situation - Northern Western Australia
A tropical low lies over land to the north northeast of Broome and may develop
into a tropical cyclone during this evening or overnight as it tracks in a
south to southwesterly direction along the Kimberley coast. Tropical Cyclone
Warnings are current for western Kimberley and eastern Pilbara coastal areas.

Weather Situation - Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough lies through eastern parts of the State with a weak cold front
expected to brush the southwest corner of the state tonight. A weak ridge of
high pressure will develop in the wake of the front as a new surface trough
develops near the west coast over the next few days.

Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 27 December
Rain and thunderstorms with heavy falls over the northwest Kimberley as a
tropical low develops near the west Kimberley coast. Showers and thunderstorms
over the remainder of the Kimberley, Pilbara, Interior, north and east
Gascoyne, Goldfields and eastern Eucla. Light showers possible along the
coastal parts between Cape Leeuwin and Albany in the evening.

Forecast for Thursday 28 December
Rain and thunderstorms with heavy falls in the west Kimberley, and adjacent
east Pilbara. Showers and thunderstorms over the remaining Kimberley, east
Pilbara, Interior, eastern Gascoyne, Goldfields, southeast Coastal district and
the Eucla. Light showers possible along the coastal parts between Cape Leeuwin
and Hopetoun in the early morning.

Forecast for Friday 29 December
Showers, rain and thunderstorms with possible heavy falls in the west
Kimberley, east Pilbara and adjacent northwestern Interior. Showers and
thunderstorms over the remaining Kimberley, Pilbara, Interior, Goldfields,
inland Gascoyne, northern parts of the South West Land Division and the Eucla.

Forecast for Saturday 30 December
Rain and thunderstorms with possible heavy falls in the western Interior and
adjacent Kimberley, southeast Pilbara. Showers and thunderstorms over the
remaining Kimberley, east Pilbara, Interior, Goldfields, Gascoyne and northern
parts of the South West Land Division.

Forecast for Sunday 31 December
Rain and thunderstorms with possible heavy falls in the southeastern Interior.
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, east Pilbara, Interior, northern
and western Goldfields, Gascoyne, northern and central parts of the South West
Land Division.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Thursday.
