Weather Situation - Northern Western Australia
A trough lies across the inland Pilbara to a tropical low in the northeast
Kimberley. The tropical low is likely to track from east to west across the
northern Kimberley during tonight and Thursday before moving offshore from the
west Kimberley late Thursday or Friday. There is a high risk of the system
developing into a tropical cyclone late on Friday or during Saturday as it
moves in a west to southwesterly direction off the Pilbara coast. Please refer

Weather Situation - Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure lies near the south coast and a trough is developing
near the west coast. The trough will continue to deepen before moving east on
Thursday. A ridge of high pressure develops near the south coast later Thursday
and Friday in the wake of the trough. A new trough will develop near the west
coast on Saturday, before moving eastwards on Sunday.

Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 25 January
Showers and thunderstorms in the Kimberley, Pilbara, North and South
Interior,northeast and west Gascoyne and northern Central West. Heavy falls and
continued flooding in the north and east Kimberley.

Forecast for Thursday 26 January
Showers and thunderstorms in the Kimberley, Pilbara, northern and central
Interior and northern Gascoyne. Heavy falls possible over the Kimberley and the
adjacent Pilbara.

Forecast for Friday 27 January
Showers and thunderstorms in the Kimberley, Pilbara, Gascoyne, northern
Goldfields, northeast Central West and Interior. Heavy falls possible near the
western Kimberley coast and the northern Pilbara coast. Showers possible near
the western and central south coast.

Forecast for Saturday 28 January
Showers and thunderstorms in the Kimberley, Pilbara, Gascoyne, Goldfields and
Interior extending into the Eucla, northern and eastern parts of the South West
Land Division during the afternoon. Heavy falls possible near the western
Kimberley coast and the Pilbara coast. Morning showers possible near the
western and central south coast.

Forecast for Sunday 29 January
Showers and thunderstorms in the Kimberley, Pilbara, Gascoyne, Goldfields,
Interior and Eucla. Areas of rain and thunderstorms over northern and eastern
parts of the South West Land Division, with possible heavy falls. Afternoon and
evening showers possible near the western and central south coast.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Thursday.
