Weather Situation - Northern Western Australia
A tropical low lies off the Pilbara coast and will continue to track west
southwest parallel to the coast during the weekend. There is a high risk of the
system developing into a tropical cyclone late Friday evening and Saturday.

Weather Situation - Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure lies near the south coast with a new trough developing
near the west coast on Saturday before moving eastwards on Sunday. A cloud band
is likely to develop over the southwest of the State on Sunday and remain
stationary into the start of next week.

Forecast for the rest of Friday 27 January
Showers and thunderstorms in the Kimberley, Pilbara, Gascoyne, northern
Goldfields and Interior. Heavy falls and gusty thunderstorms possible near the
western Kimberley coast and across the Pilbara. Light showers possible near the
south coast between Windy Harbour and Esperance.

Forecast for Saturday 28 January
Showers and thunderstorms in the Kimberley, Pilbara, Gascoyne, Goldfields,
Interior and Eucla, extending into the northern and eastern parts of the South
West Land Division during the afternoon and evening. Heavy falls and gusty
thunderstorms possible near the far western Kimberley coast and the Pilbara
coast. Moderate and heavy falls possible in thunderstorms over the Central
Wheat Belt, adjacent Gascoyne and Goldfields.

Forecast for Sunday 29 January
Showers and thunderstorms in the Kimberley, Pilbara, Gascoyne, Goldfields,
Interior and Eucla. Areas of rain and thunderstorms over northern and eastern
parts of the South West Land Division, with possible heavy falls. Showers
possible near the south coast west of Bremer Bay.

Forecast for Monday 30 January
Showers and thunderstorms in the Kimberley, Pilbara, Gascoyne, Goldfields,
Interior and Eucla. Areas of rain and thunderstorms over northern and eastern
parts of the South West Land Division and adjacent southern Goldfields with
Possible heavy falls. Showers possible near the central south coast in the
morning.

Forecast for Tuesday 31 January
Showers and thunderstorms in the Kimberley, Pilbara, Gascoyne, Goldfields,
Interior and Eucla. Areas of rain and thunderstorms over central and eastern
parts of the South West Land Division and adjacent southern Goldfields with
Possible heavy falls.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Saturday.
