Weather Situation - Northern Western Australia
A trough lies across the inland Pilbara to a tropical low in the northwest
Kimberley. The tropical low will continue to track west and is expected to move
offshore from the west Kimberley late today or Friday. There is a high risk of
the system developing into a tropical cyclone late on Friday or during Saturday
as it moves in a west to southwesterly direction off the Pilbara coast. Please

Weather Situation - Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough deepening near the west coast will move eastwards this evening,
bringing a humid change to western coastal parts on Friday. A ridge of high
pressure develops near the south coast on Friday in the wake of the trough. A
new trough will develop near the west coast on Saturday, before moving
eastwards on Sunday, with a new ridge of high pressure developing to the south
of the state.

Forecast for the rest of Thursday 26 January
Showers and thunderstorms in the Kimberley, Pilbara, northern and central
Interior, northern Gascoyne and the far northern Goldfields. Heavy falls and
gusty thunderstorms possible over the Kimberley and the adjacent Pilbara.

Forecast for Friday 27 January
Showers and thunderstorms in the Kimberley, Pilbara, Gascoyne, northern
Goldfields and Interior. Heavy falls and gusty thunderstorms possible near the
western Kimberley coast and the northern Pilbara coast. Showers possible near
the western and central south coast.

Forecast for Saturday 28 January
Showers and thunderstorms in the Kimberley, Pilbara, Gascoyne, Goldfields,
Interior and Eucla, extending into the northern and eastern parts of the South
West Land Division during the afternoon. Heavy falls and gusty thunderstorms
possible near the western Kimberley coast and the Pilbara coast. Morning
showers possible near the western and central south coast.

Forecast for Sunday 29 January
Showers and thunderstorms in the Kimberley, Pilbara, Gascoyne, Goldfields,
Interior and Eucla. Areas of rain and thunderstorms over northern and eastern
parts of the South West Land Division, with possible heavy falls. Showers
possible near the western and central south coast.

Forecast for Monday 30 January
Showers and thunderstorms in the Kimberley, Pilbara, Gascoyne, Goldfields,
Interior and Eucla. Areas of rain and thunderstorms over northern and eastern
parts of the South West Land Division, adjacent Gascoyne and southwest
Goldfields with possible heavy falls. Showers possible near the central south
coast.
