Weather Situation - Northern Western Australia
A trough extends from the inland Pilbara to the southern Kimberley and will
remain near stationary over the next few days.
Weather Situation - Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure lies over the south coast with a high located in the
Bight. A deepening trough near the west coast will linger through Saturday
before moving inland on Sunday under the influence of an approaching cold front
to the southwest of the State. The cold front will reach the southwest corner
later on Monday. A new ridge of high pressure will develop south of the State
in the wake of the front during Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of Friday 26 February
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, eastern Pilbara, northern and
western Interior, eastern and southern Gascoyne, northern Goldfields, Central
West and the adjacent Central Wheat Belt.
Forecast for Saturday 27 February
Showers and thunderstorms, mostly afternoon and evening, over the Kimberley,
central and eastern Pilbara, northern and western Interior, western Goldfields,
Gascoyne and most of the South West Land Division.
Forecast for Sunday 28 February
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, central and eastern Pilbara,
northwestern Interior, western Goldfields, eastern Gascoyne and over central
and eastern parts of the South West Land Division.
Forecast for Monday 29 February
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, inland Pilbara, eastern Gascoyne,
Goldfields and the Southeast Coastal district. Afternoon showers developing
over the Southwest district with light falls reaching the adjacent Lower West,
Great Southern and South Coastal district during the evening.
Forecast for Tuesday 1 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, inland Pilbara, western and
southern Interior, Goldfields, eastern Gascoyne and Eucla. Showers and
thunderstorms clearing from the Goldfields and Eucla during the day.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Saturday.
