...Flash Flood Watch in effect from midnight CDT tonight through
Friday evening...

The National Weather Service in Nashville has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for a portion of middle Tennessee...
including the following counties...Cheatham...Clay...
Davidson...Giles...Jackson...Macon...Marshall...Maury...
Robertson...Rutherford...Smith...Sumner...Trousdale...
Williamson and Wilson.

* From midnight CDT tonight through Friday evening

* a deep southerly flow of tropical moisture will move across
middle Tennessee through Friday. The high moisture levels
combined with an unusually strong upper level jet stream over
the region will produce widespread and persistent showers and
thunderstorms tonight through Friday evening.

* Rainfall totals of 2 to 4 inches are expected in the watch
area...with some locations seeing up to 6 inches of rain.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
