Weather Situation - Northern Western Australia
A trough extends from coastal parts of the Kimberley to the west Pilbara.
Weather Situation - Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure lies over the south of the State. The remnants of
Tropical Cyclone Marcus are forecast to move through near the southwest corner
of the State on Monday as a weakening low pressure system. In the wake of this,
a new ridge of high pressure will develop over southern parts on Tuesday and
Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of Saturday 24 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the northwest Kimberley this afternoon and
evening. Areas of light rain extending across the South West Land Division and
into the southern Goldfields and the Eucla later in the day.
Forecast for Sunday 25 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the northwest Kimberley in the afternoon and
evening. Light patchy rain over the Goldfields and Eucla, contracting east and
clearing. Areas of rain developing over southwestern parts of the South West
Land Division, most likely later in the day.
Forecast for Monday 26 March
Areas of rain over southwestern parts of the South West Land Division, with
showers extending through most remaining parts of the Division. Light patchy
rain over the far southern Goldfields and western Eucla in the morning. Showers
and thunderstorms over the north Kimberley, mostly afternoon and evening.
Forecast for Tuesday 27 March
Light showers over the South West Land Division and far southern Goldfields,
contracting to the south coast by the afternoon. Showers and thunderstorms over
the north Kimberley, mostly afternoon and evening.
Forecast for Wednesday 28 March
Light showers about the south coast between Augusta and Bremer Bay. Showers and
thunderstorms over the north Kimberley in the afternoon and evening. Possible
showers and thunderstorms developing over eastern parts of the Kimberley and
northeastern Interior later in the day.
