Western Australia Forecast

Weather Situation - Northern Western Australia
A trough lies from the Kimberley to the coastal Pilbara and will move offshore
from the Pilbara coast for a period on Thursday morning. The trough will drift
back inland on Friday and remain there over the weekend.

Weather Situation - Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure lies over southern parts of the state. A surface
trough will develop inland from the west coast during Friday and contract
eastwards on Saturday as a new ridge of high pressure develops south of the
state. A high pressure system will move into the Bight on Sunday and Monday as
a new trough develops near the west coast.

Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 28 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the northwestern and eastern Kimberley. The risk
of showers and thunderstorms over the southern Pilbara and adjacent northeast
Gascoyne.

Forecast for Thursday 29 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, far northern Interior, western
and southern Pilbara, northern Gascoyne and adjacent Interior, mostly in the
afternoon and evening. Light showers near the south coast west of Bremer Bay,
mostly in the morning.

Forecast for Friday 30 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, North Interior, Pilbara, inland
Gascoyne, western Goldfields and northern and central parts of the South West
Land Division, mostly in the afternoon and evening.

Forecast for Saturday 31 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the South West Land Division and southern
Goldfields, clearing from western parts of the South West Land Division during
the morning. Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, inland
Gascoyne, northern and western Interior, the remainder of the Goldfields and
the western Eucla. Showers developing near the western south coast.

Forecast for Sunday 1 April
Showers and thunderstorms over the west Kimberley, inland Pilbara, inland
Gascoyne, northwest Goldfields and northeastern parts of the Central Wheat
Belt. Early thunderstorms possible over the Eucla and adjacent parts. Showers
along the southern and Eucla coasts.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Thursday.
