Western Australia Forecast

Weather Situation - Northern Western Australia
A trough lies through the Pilbara and moving east through the Interior. A ridge
of high pressure is developing over central parts in the wake of the trough and
is expected to remain stationary as a series of fronts pass over the south of
the state and then move over southern parts on Saturday.

Weather Situation - Southern and Central Western Australia
A cold front lies across the south coast just east of Esperance, southwest of
the Goldfields and northeastern Central Wheat Belt and is moving quickly east
to reach the SA Border by about midnight. A ridge of high pressure is
developing across central parts in the wake of the front. Another cold front is
expected to move over the south of the state on Thursday with a weaker cold
front brushing the south coast later Friday. The ridge should move south and
strengthen over the south of the state on Saturday.

Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 26 April
Showers, the chance of a thunderstorm and gusty winds in the southern
Goldfields, southern Interior, eastern Southeast Coastal and Eucla, easing from
the northwest. Showers near the west coast south of Kalbarri and along the
south coast.

Forecast for Wednesday 27 April
Showers near the west coast south of Shark Bay and along the south coast,
extending over western parts of the South West Land Division for a period
during the day. Showers in the southern Interior and northeastern Gascoyne.

Forecast for Thursday 28 April
Showers in through the South West Land Division, apart from the northeastern
Central Wheat Belt and inland Central West. Thunderstorms possible near the
south coast west of Hopetoun.
Showers in the southern Interior and northeastern Gascoyne.

Forecast for Friday 29 April
Showers through the South West Land Division, more likely near lower west coast
and south coast. Showers in the South Interior.

Forecast for Saturday 30 April
Showers clearing most of the South West Land Division during the morning,
clearing from the central west coast during the day and persisting along the
south coast.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Wednesday.
