Weather Situation - Northern Western Australia
Severe Tropical Cyclone Quang lies to the north of the west Pilbara coast. The
system is currently tracking southwards, but is expected to move in a
southeasterly direction during Thursday and rapidly weakening in the latter
part of the week as it approaches the West Pilbara, northern Gascoyne coast. A
high pressure ridge lies to the south producing a fresh easterly flow over the
north of the State, gradually easing on Thursday as a weak cold front moves
over the far southwest of the state.

Weather Situation - Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge lies over the southeast of the State with a trough located off the
southwest coast. A weak cold front will affect the southwest of the State on
Thursday, moving eastwards into the Bight on Friday. A second cold front, will
reach the southwest of the state Sunday morning.

Forecast for the rest of Thursday 30 April
Showers over the South West Land Division and the adjacent Goldfields, Gascoyne
and western Eucla. Thunderstorms possible southwest of a line Perth to Bremer
Bay and in northern and eastern parts of the Southwest Land Division, adjacent
Goldfields and Eucla. Showers developing over the western Pilbara and the
adjacent Gascoyne.

Forecast for Friday 1 May
Showers over the South West Land Division and the Eucla clearing during the
morning. Showers over the central and western Pilbara and the northern and
western Gascoyne, with thunderstorms possible in the northwest.

Forecast for Saturday 2 May
Showers over northern and eastern parts of the South West Land Division. Late
showers near the western south coast. Showers through the Gascoyne, Goldfields,
western Pilbara and the western Eucla, with thunderstorms possible in the
northwest.

Forecast for Sunday 3 May
Showers over the South West Land Division, western Pilbara, Gascoyne,
Goldfields, Eucla and the adjacent Interior. Thunderstorms possible in the
western Pilbara, northwest Gascoyne, eastern parts of the South West Land
Division and the adjacent Goldfields.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Thursday.
