Weather Situation - Northern Western Australia
Tropical cyclone Quang lies well to the north of the west Pilbara coast. The
system is expected to track initially to the southwest, before re-curving in a
southeasterly direction and rapidly weakening in the latter part of the week as
it approaches the West Pilbara coast. A high pressure ridge lies to the south
producing a fresh easterly flow over the north of the State, gradually easing
as on Thursday as a weak cold front moves over the far southwest of the state.

Weather Situation - Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge lies south of the State with a high pressure system slowly moving
eastwards through Bight waters. A weak cold front will affect the southwest of
the State on Thursday, moving eastwards into the Bight on Friday. A second cold
front, will reach the southwest of the state Sunday morning.

Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 29 April
Showers over northern parts of the South West Land Division and the adjacent
Goldfields and Gascoyne. Showers southwest of a line from Mandurah to Bremer
Bay, with thunderstorms possible near the south coast.

Forecast for Thursday 30 April
Showers over the South West Land Division and the adjacent Goldfields and
Gascoyne. Thunderstorms possible south of a line Mandurah to Bremer Bay.
Showers and thunderstorms developing over the far western Pilbara.

Forecast for Friday 1 May
Showers over the South West Land Division and the adjacent Goldfields and
Gascoyne, contracting to southern coastal parts in the afternoon. Showers over
the western Pilbara and western Gascoyne, with thunderstorms possible in the
northwest.

Forecast for Saturday 2 May
Showers over northern and eastern parts of the SW Land Division, with
thunderstorms possible over the north of the Central West. Late showers near
the western south coast. Showers through the Gascoyne, Goldfields and western
Pilbara, with thunderstorms possible over the western Gascoyne.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Wednesday.
