Western Australia Forecast

Weather Situation - Northern Western Australia
A surface trough will lie near the southwest Kimberley and Pilbara coasts for
the next few days. Warm for this time of year through the Pilbara.

Weather Situation - Southern and Central Western Australia
A deep surface trough lies near the west coast and interacts with a pool of
unstable air west of the State to produce a broad area of thunderstorms
activity that contracts eastwards with the trough during Tuesday afternoon and
Wednesday. A cold front will move over the south west early Thursday morning. A
second cold front on Friday morning will bring cold conditions to southern WA.

Forecast for the rest of Monday 28 August
Showers and thunderstorms through the Gascoyne, northwestern Goldfields, and
the northern half of the South West Land Division.

Forecast for Tuesday 29 August
Showers and thunderstorms through most parts of the South West Land Division,
the Gascoyne and Goldfields, reaching the western Eucla and southwest Interior
in the evening. Moderate to heavy falls possible in the Central West and
Central Wheat Belt districts.

Forecast for Wednesday 30 August
Showers across the South West Land Division and the southwest Gascoyne. Showers
and thunderstorms over the eastern Goldfields, South East Coastal district,
South Interior and Eucla, clearing from the west during the day.

Forecast for Thursday 31 August
Showers southwest of a line from Kalbarri to Esperance. Showers and
thunderstorms possible over the northeast Goldfields, South Interior and
eastern Eucla.

Forecast for Friday 1 September
Showers across the South West Land Division, southwest Gascoyne, Goldfields and
Eucla with thunderstorms possible in the southeast of the State and near the
south and lower west coasts. Cold southerly winds developing during the day
with some small hail possible in southern parts of the South West Land Division.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Tuesday.
