Weather Situation - Northern Western Australia
A ridge extends through the central parts of the state with a general easterly
flow over the northern half for the next few days. A low pressure system is
developing northwest of the west Pilbara coast with a cloud band extending from
the low across the Pilbara and Gascoyne. The low and cloud band move east over
the next few days, reaching the Interior later today and the western Kimberley
on Tuesday.
Weather Situation - Southern and Central Western Australia
A fresh to strong westerly winds persists in the southwest due to a deep low
well south of the state. A cold front will cross the southwest of the state
this evening and Tuesday morning. On Tuesday and Wednesday winds ease as the
ridge moves south.
Forecast for the rest of Monday 24 June
Showers over near coastal parts from Mandurah to Albany, extending to areas
southwest of a line Jurien Bay to Bremer Bay in the afternoon and evening. Rain
areas through the western and central Pilbara, the Gascoyne, western and
central Interior, northern South West Land Division and far northern
Goldfields. Heavy falls possible in the western Pilbara and northern Gascoyne.
Forecast for Tuesday 25 June
In the north: areas of rain in all but the northeast Kimberley, heavy falls
possible in the Pilbara and adjacent parts, easing in western parts. In the
south: showers possible throughout, clearing from the west during the day
although persist along the south coast.
Forecast for Wednesday 26 June
Areas of rain the southwestern Kimberley, Pilbara, far northeastern Gascoyne,
Interior and adjacent Goldfields and Eucla, easing in southwestern parts during
the day. Isolated showers along the south coast contract to western parts of
the south coast during the day.
Forecast for Thursday 27 June
Rain persists in the southwest Kimberley and northern Interior. Showers
possible through most inland central parts of the state and near the coast in
the southwest corner.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Monday.
