Severe Thunderstorm Watch
Statement as of 9:55 PM CDT on June 26, 2013
The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a
* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of
parts of middle and eastern Tennessee
* effective this Wednesday night and Thursday morning from 955 PM
until 300 am CDT.
* Primary threats include...
several damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible
a few large hail events to 1 inch in diameter possible
The Severe Thunderstorm Watch area is approximately along and 45
statute miles north and south of a line from 55 miles southwest
of Clarksville Tennessee to 15 miles east northeast of Knoxville
Tennessee. For a complete depiction of the watch see the

Precautionary/preparedness actions...
Remember...a Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch
area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for
threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements
and possible warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally
do produce tornadoes.

Discussion...merging storm clusters in KY will continue to spread
sewd into TN through the early morning hours...with a continued risk
for a few damaging gusts and marginally severe hail for the next few
hours.
Aviation...a few severe thunderstorms with hail surface and aloft
to 1 inch. Extreme turbulence and surface wind gusts to 60 knots.
A few cumulonimbi with maximum tops to 550. Mean storm motion
vector 32035.
