Weather Situation - Northern Western Australia
Ex-Tropical Cyclone Frances lies to the north of the Kimberley and will
continue to track west-southwest over open waters well north of the State and
further weaken. Tropical Cyclone Greg has developed to the northeast of the
Cocos Islands. [For latest warnings see www.bom.gov.au/cyclone/]. A weak trough
lies near the Pilbara coast and Kimberley coast. A high will move into the
Bight during Tuesday with a ridge strengthening through the Interior of the
State.

Weather Situation - Southern and Central Western Australia
A weak cold front is moving across the south of the State, with a new ridge of
high pressure developing in its wake during Monday and Tuesday. On Thursday a
weak cold front approaches the southwest.

Forecast for the rest of Sunday 30 April
Showers and thunderstorms over the northwest Kimberley. Showers southeast of a
line Bremer Bay to Kalgoorlie to Eucla.

Forecast for Monday 1 May
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, mostly over central and
northwestern parts. Showers and drizzle over southeast parts of the State and
the south coast, contracting to coastal areas east of Esperance in the
afternoon.

Forecast for Tuesday 2 May
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, mostly over central and
northwestern parts. Showers over the Eucla and near the south coast east of
Hopetoun, contracting to near coastal parts in the afternoon.

Forecast for Wednesday 3 May
Showers near the Eucla coast in the morning. Showers developing near the
southwest Capes during the afternoon.

Forecast for Thursday 4 May
Showers southwest of a line Bunbury to Albany, extending to southwest of a line
Jurien Bay to Ravensthorpe during the afternoon and evening.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Monday.
