Weather Situation - Northern Western Australia
Tropical Cyclone Frances lies approximately 300 kilometres north-northwest of
Darwin and will track west-southwest to the north of the Kimberley over the
next several days. A high over the Bight extends a ridge through the Interior
of the State whilst a weak trough lies near the Pilbara and Kimberley coast.

Weather Situation - Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure system lies over the Bight and is expected to persist for the
next few days. A weak cold front will affect the south of the State during
Sunday, with a new ridge of high pressure developing in its wake.

Forecast for the rest of Thursday 27 April
Possible evening showers and the chance of a thunderstorm in the northern
Goldfields, and adjacent southwest Interior and eastern Gascoyne. Chance of a
late coastal showers about the Southwest district.

Forecast for Friday 28 April
Showers and thunderstorms over the far north Kimberley. Chance of showers or
thunderstorms over the northeast Goldfields and southwest Interior. Early
morning showers about coastal parts of the Southwest district.

Forecast for Saturday 29 April
Showers and thunderstorms over the far north Kimberley with possible extension
into central and eastern parts in the afternoon. Chance of showers or
thunderstorms over the Eucla and southern Interior during the morning.

Forecast for Sunday 30 April
Showers and thunderstorms over the northwest Kimberley. Showers developing
about the Southwest district during the morning and extending along southern
coastal parts in the afternoon and evening.

Forecast for Monday 1 May
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, mostly over northwest coastal
parts. Showers about southern districts west of Walpole. Morning showers in the
south Goldfields and far southern Interior.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Friday.
