Weather Situation - Northern Western Australia
Severe Tropical Cyclone Frances lies to the north of the Kimberley and is
likely to continue to track west-southwest over open waters well north of the
State and slowly weaken. A high over the Bight extends a ridge through the
Interior of the State whilst a weak trough lies near the Pilbara coast and
Kimberley coast.

Weather Situation - Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure system lies over the Bight and is expected to persist for the
next few days. A weak cold front will affect the south of the State on Sunday,
with a new ridge of high pressure developing in its wake during Monday and
Tuesday.

Forecast for the rest of Saturday 29 April
Showers and thunderstorms over the northwest Kimberley.

Forecast for Sunday 30 April
Showers and thunderstorms over the northwest Kimberley. Showers over southern
parts of the South West Land Division, contracting to near southern coastal
parts by evening.

Forecast for Monday 1 May
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, mostly over central and
northwestern parts. Showers and drizzle over southeast parts of the State and
the south coast, contracting to coastal areas east of Albany in the afternoon.

Forecast for Tuesday 2 May
Showers and thunderstorms over the northern Kimberley. Showers and drizzle over
the Eucla and near the south coast east of Hopetoun, contracting to near
coastal parts in the afternoon.

Forecast for Wednesday 3 May
Showers or drizzle near the Eucla coast in the morning.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Sunday.
