Weather Situation - Northern Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure builds over central parts of the State with another
trough beginning to develop near the Pilbara and Kimberley coasts on Friday,
and it will extend further into the western Pilbara on Sunday.
Weather Situation - Southern and Central Western Australia
A weak cold front will reach the southwest corner of the State this evening,
then move through the South West Land Division during Friday. A ridge will
develop over the south of the State during Saturday. A trough will rapidly
deepen inland from the west coast on Sunday, then move eastwards ahead of a
stronger cold front that will reach the Southwest Capes during Monday morning
before sweeping throughout the Southwest Land Division during the remainder of
the day.
Forecast for the rest of Thursday 6 September
Showers southwest of a line from Mandurah to Albany. Light showers also
occurring along the west coast south of Geraldton and the south coast west of
Bremer Bay.
Forecast for Friday 7 September
Showers southwest of a line Geraldton to Southern Cross to Israelite Bay,
contracting to coastal parts during the evening.
Forecast for Saturday 8 September
Showers in coastal areas between Perth and Israelite Bay, extending inland to
west of a line Jurien Bay to Lake Grace to Bremer Bay for a period during the
day.
Forecast for Sunday 9 September
Showers about the Southwest Capes, extending to adjacent inland parts southwest
of a line Mandurah to Walpole for a period during the afternoon and early
evening.
Forecast for Monday 10 September
Showers along the west coast south of Kalbarri and also over land southwest of
a line Perth to Albany. Showers extending to southwest of a line from Kalbarri,
Southern Cross to Esperance in the afternoon and evening. Isolated
thunderstorms with small hail possible about southern coastal areas between
Cape Leeuwin and Bremer Bay late in the evening.
