Weather Situation - Northern Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure lies through central and southern parts of the State
and will contract eastwards on Tuesday and Wednesday. A trough will move east
through the Pilbara and north Interior on Wednesday and Thursday morning ahead
of a strong cold front that will affect southwestern parts of the Pilbara later
on Wednesday. A new ridge will develop through central parts of the State by
Thursday afternoon.

Weather Situation - Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge lies over central and southern parts. A strong cold front and
associated trough will move over the south of the State during Wednesday and
Thursday morning before a new ridge develops through central parts of the State
by Thursday afternoon. A second cold front will move over the South West Land
Division on Friday.

Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 31 July
Showers southwest of a line from Mandurah to Walpole, extending to southwest of
Jurien Bay to Walpole during the evening. Thunderstorms possible over
northeastern parts of the South Interior.

Forecast for Wednesday 1 August
A strong cold front with associated showers and gusty winds moving through the
South West Land Division during the day and reaching the Gascoyne, Goldfields
and far western Eucla during the late afternoon and evening. Showers continuing
in the wake of the front, with squally thunderstorms, small hail and cold,
gusty winds. Damaging wind gusts possible over the western half of the South
West Land Division with and after the passage of the front. Possible snow
flurries over the Stirlings in the evening.

Forecast for Thursday 2 August
Showers over the South West Land Division, southeastern Goldfields, Eucla and
the South Interior, contracting to coastal and adjacent parts during the late
afternoon and evening. A chance of gusty thunderstorms near the south coast
during the morning, and along the west coast south of Jurien Bay in the early
morning. Small hail possible over southern parts of the State, mostly in the
morning. Possible snow flurries over the Stirlings in the early morning,
tending to showers of rain after sunrise.

Forecast for Friday 3 August
Showers throughout most of the South West Land Division, extending into the
southwest Gascoyne and southwest Goldfields for a period during the day.
Possible thunderstorms about southern coastal parts, most likely in the evening.

Forecast for Saturday 4 August
Showers extending throughout the South West Land Division, Goldfields, Eucla,
South Interior and the southern and western Gascoyne during the morning.
Thunderstorms and small hail possible over southern parts.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Wednesday.
