Western Australia Forecast

Weather Situation - Northern Western Australia
A broad trough lies across inland parts of the Pilbara and Kimberley. The
trough will move east from Sunday as a ridge of high pressure builds across
central WA.

Weather Situation - Southern and Central Western Australia
A surface trough over central parts of the State will move east to lie over the
Eucla and southern Interior during the weekend. A cold front will move across
the Southwest Land Division during today. Another cold front will affect
southwestern parts of the State on Monday, moving east along the south coast on
Tuesday as a ridge of high pressure develops near the south coast in the wake
of the front.

Forecast for the rest of Saturday 29 August
Showers southwest of a line Geraldton to Albany, extending to southwest of a
line Denham to Esperance during the afternoon. Thunderstorms and moderate falls
possible southwest of a line from Geraldton to Bremer Bay. Showers and
thunderstorms possible over the Goldfields, Interior, Eucla and far eastern
parts of the South West Land Division.

Forecast for Sunday 30 August
Showers through the South West Land Division, southern and western Gascoyne and
the southern Goldfields, mostly clearing inland parts and contracting to the
south coast during the early afternoon. Storms and possible small hail over
southern parts of the South West district and far southern Great Southern and
South Coastal district. Showers and thunderstorms over the eastern Interior and
Eucla, gradually contracting east.

Forecast for Monday 31 August
Showers extending from the west across the South West Land Division and
southern Goldfields. Thunderstorms and small hail possible in the south.
Moderate falls possible in the south.

Forecast for Tuesday 1 September
Early morning thunderstorms and showers over the southern Interior and eastern
Eucla, clearing east during the morning. Showers near the south coast and far
southern Goldfields, extending to the Eucla during the day.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Saturday.
