Weather Situation - Northern Western Australia
A broad surface trough over the Pilbara and Kimberley will move slowly eastward
during Monday and Tuesday.
Weather Situation - Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough near the west coast will move inland during Sunday as a weak cold
front approaches front the southwest. The front will dissipate as it moves over
the south west corner of the State during Monday, before a more significant
cold front moves over the South West Land Division on Tuesday. An associated
low pressure system will move south of the State during Tuesday and Wednesday,
with a pool of cold, unstable air to move over much of the southern half of the
State.
Forecast for the rest of Saturday 25 August
Showers southwest of a line Busselton to Albany will contract to the coast
during the evening.
Forecast for Sunday 26 August
Showers for a period during the day south of a line Bunbury to Ravensthorpe and
through the Eucla District.
Forecast for Monday 27 August
Showers developing about the South West Capes in the morning, extending to
southwest of a line Perth to Bremer Bay by mid afternoon, before contracting
mainly to coastal parts between Geraldton and Albany by evening. Morning
showers, with the chance of a thunderstorm developing in eastern parts of the
South East Coastal district, clearing eastwards during the day.
Forecast for Tuesday 28 August
Gusty showers extending to southwest of a line Coral Bay to Israelite Bay
during the day. The chance of squally thunderstorms about the South West Capes
during the morning, extending to southwest of a line Lancelin to Northam to
Albany during the afternoon. Windy through the southern Gascoyne, inland
Central West and Central Wheat Belt.
Forecast for Wednesday 29 August
Gusty showers extending to southwest of a line Exmouth to Leonora to Caiguna
during the day. The chance of squally thunderstorms throughout the South West
Land Division. Very windy through the southern Gascoyne, Goldfields and Eucla.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Sunday.
