Weather Situation - Northern Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure is developing over central parts of the state in the
wake of a broad low pressure system moving into the Bight. The ridge will
continue to develop through central and southern parts of the state on Friday
with southeasterly winds developing through the Pilbara, before a weak surface
trough develops over the Pilbara and western Kimberley on Saturday and Sunday.

Weather Situation - Southern and Central Western Australia
A low pressure system will move through far southern parts of the State this
evening, with a pool of cold, unstable air to move over much of the southern
half of the State. On Thursday a ridge of high pressure will build over central
parts of the State and drift southwards on Friday. A weak front will brush the
south coast on Saturday, with a ridge of high pressure developing in its wake.
A high pressure system will move into the Bight on Sunday.

Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 29 August
Gusty showers extending to southwest of a line Karratha to Laverton to
Warburton. The chance of squally thunderstorms through eastern parts of the
South West Land Division, southeast Gascoyne, Goldfields, southern Interior and
the Eucla. Very windy through the southern and eastern Gascoyne, Goldfields,
Interior and the Eucla.

Forecast for Thursday 30 August
Showers through the South West Land Division, southern and western Gascoyne,
Goldfields, Eucla and the South Interior, contracting to coastal and adjacent
parts during the afternoon and evening. Showers possible in central western
coastal parts of the Kimberley, clearing in the afternoon. Windy through the
Eucla and southern Interior. Possible thunderstorms in the eastern Goldfields,
southern Interior and Eucla, clearing eastwards.

Forecast for Friday 31 August
Showers over southern parts of the South West Land Division and the southern
Eucla.

Forecast for Saturday 1 September
Showers near the south coast and Eucla coast, reaching to remaining southern
parts of the South West Land Division for a period during the day.

Forecast for Sunday 2 September
Showers near the Southeast coast and Eucla coast, reaching adjacent inland
parts for a period during the day.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Thursday.
