Weather Situation - Northern Western Australia
A trough lies through the Pilbara and northern Gascoyne remain near stationary
over the next few days. The trough will extend east to link to a weak low over
the North Interior during Saturday.

Weather Situation - Southern and Central Western Australia
As a new ridge of high pressure develops along the south coast, a surface
trough is moving east over the Goldfields towards the Eucla. Another trough is
expected to develop along the west coast during Saturday and rapidly deepen.
The trough will move inland from the west coast during Sunday as a weak front
approaches from the southwest, reaching the SW Capes Monday evening before a
strong ridge of high pressure develops near the south coast on Tuesday and
Wednesday.

Forecast for the rest of Friday 23 February
Showers and thunderstorms about the north and west Kimberley, Pilbara and
northern and eastern parts of the Gascoyne. Showers possible about eastern
parts of the South West Land Division, Goldfields and Eucla during the
afternoon, with the chance of a thunderstorm inland.

Forecast for Saturday 24 February
Showers and thunderstorms about the Kimberley, inland Pilbara, Gascoyne and
northern parts of the South West Land Division. Showers near the south coast
east of Hopetoun and the Eucla, with the chance of an early morning
thunderstorm.

Forecast for Sunday 25 February
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley and far northern Interior, western
inland Pilbara, inland Gascoyne and the central and western South West Land
Division.

Forecast for Monday 26 February
Showers and thunderstorms about the Kimberley, northern Interior, Gascoyne,
Goldfields, South West Land Division, clearing western parts of the South West
Land Division during the morning. Showers near the SW Capes in the evening.

Forecast for Tuesday 27 February
Showers and thunderstorms about the Kimberley, northern Interior and inland
east Pilbara, mostly afternoon and evening. Showers near the south coast and
Eucla coast, with the chance of early morning thunderstorms over the Eucla and
adjacent part.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Saturday.
