Weather Situation - Northern Western Australia
A trough lies through the Pilbara and northern Gascoyne and will persist over
the coming days. The trough will extend east to link to a weak low over the
North Interior from Saturday.
Weather Situation - Southern and Central Western Australia
A broad trough lies near the west coast and will move inland Thursday night as
a new ridge of high pressure develops along the south coast. Another trough is
expected to develop along the west coast during Saturday and rapidly deepen. A
low forms in the at the base of the trough near the south west corner of the
State early on Sunday before both systems push east during the day. A ridge of
high pressure will develop over the south west of the State briefly on Monday
ahead of a weak cold front expected to reach the South West Capes later that
evening.
Forecast for the rest of Thursday 22 February
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, central inland Pilbara and far
northern Gascoyne. Showers over the southern Interior, Goldfields, Eucla, and
South East Coastal district contracting eastwards through the evening.
Forecast for Friday 23 February
Showers and thunderstorms about the north and west Kimberley, Pilbara, and
northern and eastern parts of the Gascoyne. Showers southwest of a line Perth
to Bremer Bay in the morning, contracting to eastern parts of the South West
Land Division during the afternoon.
Forecast for Saturday 24 February
Showers and thunderstorms about northern and eastern parts of the Kimberley,
western Pilbara, Gascoyne and northern parts of the Southwest Land Division,
extending towards southern coastal parts in the late evening. Showers through
the southern Goldfields and Eucla clearing in the afternoon.
Forecast for Sunday 25 February
Showers and thunderstorms about northern and eastern parts of the Kimberley,
northeastern Interior, western Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, Southwest Land
Division and adjacent Goldfields, clearing the west coast in the afternoon.
Showers developing about coastal parts of the South West in the afternoon and
evening.
Forecast for Monday 26 February
Showers and thunderstorms about the Kimberley, Northern Interior, inland
Gascoyne, eastern parts of the Southwest Land Division and adjacent Goldfields.
Showers about the South West easing through the day.

A trough lies through the Pilbara and northern Gascoyne and will persist over
