Weather Situation - Northern Western Australia
A weak ridge of high pressure lies across central WA with a weak trough lying
near the Kimberley and Pilbara coasts. The ridge will strengthen over the
weekend.

Weather Situation - Southern and Central Western Australia
A strong cold lies off the Southwest Capes this afternoon and will extend
across the southwest corner of the State during Thursday evening. On Friday the
frontal system will continue to move east across southern WA. Another cold
front will affect the southwest corner of the State later on Saturday followed
by another cold front affecting southern WA on Monday.

Forecast for the rest of Thursday 27 July
Showers southwest of a line from Jurien Bay to Albany, extending to southwest
of a line from Geraldton to Bremer Bay during the evening. Damaging winds
southwest of a line Busselton to Walpole, extending through areas southwest of
a line from Mandurah to Wagin to Bremer Bay during the evening. Thunderstorms
possible near the far southwest coasts.

Forecast for Friday 28 July
Windy across the southern half of the State. Showers over the South West Land
Division, extending to the southwestern Gascoyne, southern Goldfields and
western Eucla during the afternoon and evening. Damaging winds possible near
the south coast in the early morning. Thunderstorms and small hail possible
southwest of a line from Perth to Bremer Bay during the late afternoon and
evening.

Forecast for Saturday 29 July
Showers southwest of a line Carnarvon to Leonora to Eucla, contracting back to
the South West Land Division during the day. Possible morning thunderstorms
about coastal parts between Jurien Bay and Bremer Bay.

Forecast for Sunday 30 July
Showers southwest of a line from Jurien Bay to Bremer Bay, with thunderstorms
possible in the morning. Morning showers and thunderstorms possible along the
remainder of the south coast. Showers possible over the remainder of the South
West Land Division, the Goldfields and the Eucla, clearing by the evening.

Forecast for Monday 31 July
Shower southwest of a line Shark Bay to Albany extending through areas
southwest of line Carnarvon to Kalgoorlie to Israelite Bay during the day.
Thunderstorms and small hail possible southwest of a line from Jurien Bay to
Bremer Bay during the late afternoon and evening.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Friday.
